Livelihood

Livelihood Module

We had Livelihood Module by Misss.Neelam before this module I didn’t know anything about livelihood. When I attend first day I came to know what is livelihood and  it was very interesting.  Livelihood meaning is A set of economic activities, involving self-employment or wage-employment.by sing one’s human and material to generate adequate resources for meeting the requirements of self and the household and a livelihood should keep a person meaningfully occupied, in a sustainable manner, with dignity. Livelihood, therefore, go far beyond generating income. A livelihood is much more than employment.
In current decade according to estimates of the planning commission for the tenth five year plan, more than 10 million people in India will be seeking work every year. Thus to make sure full employment within decade, more than 10 million new livelihoods will have to be generated every year. Given the magnitude of the problem, and the lack of resources for livelihood support.  Livelihood activities are very important to develop the rural / urban area. Government of India has been one of the largest agencies involved in such livelihood promotion efforts. This study helped fellows to understand where intervention cab done in livelihood. It can be through different approach like spatial, segmental, sectoral and holistic. Some other organization also involved in these activities for examples SEWA, BASIX, PRADAN and DHRUVA. Finally I came to know there are lot of opportunity for a entrepreneur in livelihood.

 Hemal Desai

Hemal Desai is one of the famous Chief Operating Officer of Mayur hotel. He worked in different companies for more than seven years, like sales coordination, Information technology Industries. Current he is working in service industry, mayor hotel. He shared about service industries .Service industries is hotels, banking, railway etc.He also explained about hospitality which was new concept for me hospitality is nothing but giving service.
I came to know about different types of hotels like small hotels, budget, and revenue hotels. The main business technique of every business is to blend skill and unskilled labor.
The main learning is unskilled but experienced person are much better than skilled labor. Learning in control environment is only awareness. The practical way is the real learning. Learning is important in life but we have to keep polishing in order to develop skill much better. Working in groups is the real taste of business because in wok place we can come across different age group and attitude. Handling this kind of people is the big challenge.
I learned the main concept, nobody works for money. When we train employee and help them to grow .they automatically pushing our work in a success way. In every business adding value to employees and customer is the major role of employer. Creating value to customer and customer gives value to us this concept works in every sector and business. a rule called 80 20 rule, this rule says that 80% of business comes from 20% of clients and 80% of clients contribute to 20% of business.

Transparent and communication is more important in business
This is the one best learning I learned from Mr. Hemal Desai that is he is maintaining written communication. The written communication what ever the daily activities and appointments he mentioned in note book, which is can be memorable and clarity.Another best learning I learned is written communication can be more effective in workplace. For example when a customer came and order of items we have to follow written communication and signature of customer. The main intention behind this it is proof for if they blame intentionally and to avoid mistake.
To hire a people we need to observe main one is whether he or she is an enthusiastic or not in nature. Listening is important in workplace because when we done any mistake accept it and be done with it.
I came to know about fact based and perceive based system. Fact based system is the waiting for customer feelings and perceive based system is how people feel about it. The Wipro company and most of companies are using perceive based system with the help of facebook, Twitter etc.
Past businessmen believed in number game, how much customer is using their product but now they divert their idea in to service game like how much customer are satisfied with their quality. Customer education is more important because fact and value should give more success in business.Customisation and specialization is the key of business. Retaining customer is big challenge by using customer education method can retain customer. I really thankful to all for arranging such a wonderful session. Session motivated me to know more about business technique.

Effective communication

In effective communication class our instructor told us to draw picture of bug, but most people written different drawings .This is only because we have some different concept of picture of bug. In effective communication I mainly learned communication verbal communication we have to pay attention, listening is more important in communication.
Be genuine this is the one I learned in communication, in communication we can come to know is the communication is genuine or not.
In non verbal communication Body language, verbal, vocal this are plays important role.

Assertive communication is the best and healthiest way of communicating. For professionals using assertive communication is good one, to handle any situation. In effective communication every one use closed ended question is common. To become professional we have to think critically, like why, how, when, which, who Effective question should be relevant a to real life and to real work.
Agriculture Module
We had Agriculture module by Mr.Ravindra and misss.Sangeeth in our fellowship program. I learn new things in that module. It was relay interesting to know about agriculture  it was helped me to understand small and very important  things get know and different  types of cultivating methods. Agriculture  refers to the production of foods and goods produced through farming and forestry.  Agriculture plays an important role in the taken as a whole socio- economic development of rural India. India is the largest producer in the world of cashew nuts, coconut, tea, ginger, turmeric and black pepper. India is second largest producer of wheat, rice, sugar, and groundnut. India is also ranked first in banana production in the world. India has largest cattle population in the world, hence also first rank in milk production. and world leader in dairy animal production Amul is the Indian milk suppliers in the world. Indian farmer using the natural manure many years, because it’s need for the field.
Sustainable farming requires an enhanced capacity of farmers to adapt in the face of unexpected changes and emerging uncertainties, rather than mere continuation of a practice forever . Helping farmers to enhance their abilities to understand and analyze their situations enabling good decision making is very important.

Topics
·        Development of agriculture: Green revolution as a part to agriculture development.
·        Challenges in rural livelihood: Income generation through allied generation.
·        Industrial wealth: Industry economy leads to climate change for against.
·        Pesticides: Pesticides is a slow poison and after some time the result is very dangerous.
·        FFS- Farmer field school: This is school for farmer. They learnt new things in the farmer
field school.
·        PTD- Participatory technology: It is useful for farmers.

Module description:
·        Farming as a business under globalizations.
·        Food and nutritional security, self reliance in farming.
·        Industrial economy helps the farmer, industry developing the agriculture.
·        A pesticide is slow poison for human.
·        Farmer learn the many thing about field in Farmer field school

At the end of the day we had field visit to BAIF NGO which is working for agriculture development. think if we follow some cropping pattern in agriculture it help to sustain for long time. After this module I think agriculture can provide year long work in the agriculture farm itself instead of searching job and going to other places. It can be gainful production. Even in dry land we can grow some of the fruit trees. I think it require lot of patience and hard work to get result in the field. Without using chemical fertilizer we can get more yield by using vermi compost which can be prepared by farmers by using all type of agriculture waste and home waste.
